Poses & Rig

Introduction:

We are getting really close to the launch now! You can expect Human Generator to drop in the next few days. Also, stay tuned for some exciting news about your early bird discount in a couple of hours!

In this developer diary, we take a look at the posing options and the rig of Human Generator!

Pose library:

Human Generator has a library of pre-made poses included. By selecting a pose from the library, you can quickly get the human in a default pose. Because it's a rigged pose, you can easily adjust this pose to your liking. Just like clothing, hair, footwear, and patterns you can add extra poses via content packs, which you can share or sell.

The rig:

Human Generator uses an extensive rig, with a focus on usability. The rig is based on the Rigify metarig, making it highly compatible with retargeting scripts. It features both individual finger controls and eye controls.

Corrective shapekeys:

To get the best deformation possible we’ve added 10 corrective shapekeys. These driver-controlled shapekeys make sure extreme poses don’t result in unnatural deformations.

Rigify compatibility:

Because Human Generator’s rig is derived from the metarig, it is possible to generate a Rigify rig for your human. There is a dedicated button for this in the Human Generator UI, which ensures the clothing also gets assigned to the newly created rig with just one click.
